Creative Upholstery Weekend 

Are you interested in learning professional upholstery techniques? 

This weekend workshop gives you the opportunity to learn while you complete your own project with professional guidance and tools. This is a hands-on 2 day workshop where you will bring your own small side chair to reupholster. You will have use of a pneumatic stapler, proper upholstery hand tools, sewing machine and safety equipment.

This workshop will be fun, but it is also hard work. Please note that you will have to strip the fabric off 

your chair before arriving. All basic materials are included, with the exception of fabric. Stripping the 

chair often takes longer than you may expect, so it is best not to leave it to do the night before. Pliers 

are a good tool to use to accomplish this. Please note: only the fabric needs to be stripped off – do not 

remove the webbing. Also, keep the padding if it is in good condition and bring it along.

If your chair frame requires repair, or you would like to paint the frame, this can be done at the 

workshop. This will be discussed prior to attending.

Projects must be approved prior to the workshop. Only small chairs are acceptable due to space 

restrictions. As well, certain styles of furniture (tufting or fluting) are too complicated for this multi-

person workshop. Fabric quantities and finishing materials for your project will be discussed prior to 

attending as well.

OPTION TWO An Overnight Upgrade - $875 + HST

• Includes dinner & and evening gathering, with an overnight experience at Tapestry for a small group.

• Includes:

  • One private room at Tapestry

  • Seasonal dinner overlooking the Bay of Fundy

  • Breakfast and sunrise coffee

  • Evening fire circle and stargazing

  • Access to outdoor baths, shower and wood fired hot tub

  • Access to walking trails, sanctuary, labyrinth, yoga deck, and gathering spaces

Join us for an intimate two-day upholstery experience at Tapestry, where you'll learn practical upholstery techniques while restoring a small furniture piece that holds meaning for you.
